Prescription Diets

We have a variety of prescription diets for your pet's special needs. We carry Royal Canin, Purina, and Hill's.

Preventive Care

We offer wellness exams, senior exams, and pediatric exams. We regularly treat and diagnose illnesses, and our doctors are experienced in oncology, dermatology, behavior, and geriatric care.

Surgery

We perform a variety of surgeries including routine dental cleanings and extractions, spays, neuters, and mass removals.

FLEA, TICK, AND HEARTWORM PREVENTION

We believe the best way to prevent parasitic disease is to prevent the parasite from attaching to its host (your pet!) There are several safe and effective products that we offer and we are happy to discuss all available options to decide which product is right for you and your dog. It is important that all pets in the house, even indoor only cats are treated with a flea and tick prevention. Please note that over the counter flea and tick products can be very toxic and we do not recommend their use.

We are treating more and more heartworm positive pets each year. We recommend year-round use of a heartworm preventative.

CANINE PREVENTION:

FELINE PREVENTION:

Simparica Trio- Simparica Trio is a once-a-month chewable tablet for parasite control in dogs. It protects against heartworms, fleas, ticks, and some intestinal parasites. For use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks of age and older, and weighing 2.8lbs or greater.

Nexgard- Nexgard is a very effective and easy-to-administer flavored chewable tablet that should be given every 4 weeks to prevent fleas and ticks. Nexgard is soy-based so it can be given to dogs that may have allergies to certain protein flavorings. For use in dogs and puppies 8 weeks and older.

Bravecto- Bravecto is a very effective and easy-to-administer flavored chewable tablet that should be given every 12 weeks to prevent flea and tick infestation. For use in dogs and puppies 6 months of age and older. There also is a topical option of this product for cats.

Seresto- Seresto collars are a unique odorless collar that offer a continuous supply of two active ingredients that are released in low concentrations for effective 8 month protection and repellency against fleas, ticks and mosquitos. Using sustained release technology, these active ingredients are stored within the collar. For use on dogs, cats and puppies 7 weeks and older. Collar size is based on weight.

K-9 Advantix- Advantix is a topical product. It is applied to the back of your dog’s neck every 4 weeks to repel fleas, ticks and mosquitos. It is important that your dog does not swim or bathe for 48 hours before or after application. For use on dogs and puppies 7 weeks and older. Note this product is very toxic to cats so we do not recommend it in homes where cats are snuggling with dogs.

Heargard Plus: Heartgard is a once monthly, all beef chew that prevents heartworm disease and certain parasite infections. Other than Simparica Trio, it is the only heartworm prevention we recommend.

Bravecto 3 Month- Bravecto is a very effective and easy-to-administer topical tick and flea preventive. It should be applied to the skin between a cat’s shoulder blades every 12 weeks to prevent flea and tick infestation. There are 2 sizes for adult cats, 6-13.8lbs and 13.8-27lbs.

Feline Revolution Plus-This once-monthly topical preventive prevents fleas, ticks, heartworm disease, and some intestinal parasites. This is a very safe and broad-spectrum parasite preventive.
